Rome Middle School Computer Laboratories Rooms 503 and 601 Procedures There are currently two computer

labs available for classroom instruction in rooms 503 and 601. Students who do not have computers or Internet at home can practice skills, do research, complete assignments, and create multimedia content while at school. Using technology helps prepare students for school and work and motivates reluctant learners. The labs are in high demand. To promote accessibility, it is necessary to have policies and procedures in place. These policies and procedures are effective immediately: Computer Lab Sign-Up Sign up with name and class period(s) in ink. It is not necessary to list your purpose. Sign up for labs no more than one day per week. However, if a lab is still available one week prior to the date, a teacher may sign up for that day without restrictions. [i.e. A teacher may sign up for additional day(s).] Sign up is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Teachers must personally sign up for their class periods. Requests will not be taken via email or phone. Modifications to the Calendar If you need to cancel your time, place a line through your name and initial changes in ink. Additional Information During preplanning, monthly calendars will be available for sign up. Please return the key to the media center when you are finished. Please leave the lab in the condition in which you found it. Report any problems to Ms. Quilici. Please make Ms. Quilici aware of nonfunctioning equipment. Tutoring taking place beyond the instructional day will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. In addition, please be mindful of fellow colleagues. Each calendar will list the number of workstations available. For example, teachers with smaller classes should use the lab with fewer computers thus reserving the other lab for larger classes. Thank you for your cooperation in following these guidelines. If you have questions, please see Ms. Quilici for clarification.
