Seeing A Minecraft Movie can be a rowdy affair, with fans shouting along with the movie’s lines and filming themselves in the audience. Anyone looking to catch the movie from the safety of their own survival house will have a new way to do so; a Walmart-exclusive Blu-ray of the movie popped up online this week.
The release date is slated for April 1, 2026, which is possibly a placeholder date. There is no official release date for the Blu-ray or DVD, though the movie’s major box office success means the studio is unlikely to rush a VOD, streaming, or physical media release.
The exclusive collectible edition features a DIY component, with a crafting table that’s assembled from the disc’s sleeve, and magnets to keep the box together. The collectible set includes a DVD, Blu-ray, and a digital download code. In addition to the Crafting edition, A Minecraft Movie is also being released as a 4K Steelbook, with behind-the-scenes features.
Minecraft had the biggest opening ever for a video game adaptation, and joins box office juggernauts like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, proving the bankability of the genre. 2025 will see the release of Mortal Kombat 2, The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, with future releases including Sonic 4 and The Legend of Zelda in 2027.
In other Minecraft merch news, Adidas just released a merch tie-in with the video game, featuring graphic tees, shoes, and jackets.
