Europe

For over 30 years, Ringier has been active in Central and Eastern Europe in the areas of media, digital marketplaces and sports media. Business activities began in 1990 in the former Czechoslovakia and in 1992 in Romania. Bulgaria, Poland, and Hungary followed in 1993. In 2016, Ringier and Axel Springer bundled their international activities in Central and Eastern Europe and founded the joint venture Ringier Axel Springer Media AG in Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Baltic States. In 2021, Ringier acquired all of Axel Springer's shares in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Hungary. The joint venture in Poland remains unchanged. 2023 marked the first market entry in Greece.

Poland
Ringier Axel Springer Polska is the leading publisher in the Polish digital market. And its technological hub is the creator of Ring Publishing, an all-in-one publishing platform that supports every stage of the publishing value chain. Ring Publishing proposes solutions to assist in content creation, management and distribution, along with tools to promote effective advertising inventory and monetise media products. Serbia
Ringier Serbia is a digital media company operating in Serbia since 1996. It owns Blic.rs, the most visited media portal in Serbia, Sportal.rs, Zena.rs, Superrecepti.rs, Pulsonline.rs, Ana.rs and marketplaces Nekretnine.rs and Mojauto.rs. It also publishes the printed titles Blic and Blic Zena and owns the television channel BlicTV. Ringier Serbia established the Blic Foundation and is one of the founders of the Digital Serbia Initiative and the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Slovakia
Ringier has been active in Slovakia since the 1990s. These activities were incorporated into the Ringier Axel Springer Media joint venture in 2010. In 2021 Ringier acquired all shares previously held by Axel Springer. The Slovakian portfolio today consists of digital-only media brands such as Aktuality.sk, Šport.sk and Noizz.sk. Ringier is also the largest operator of classifieds portals in the country, through its United Classifieds subsidiary.
The Baltics
The CV Keskus Group, which operates CVKeskus.ee in Estonia, CVMarket.lv in Latvia and CVMarket.lt in Lithuania, was acquired by the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG joint venture in 2017. Originally established in Estonia in 2000, CVKeskus.ee expanded to Latvia and Lithuania in 2004. Ringier now fully owns CV Keskus, having acquired Axel Springer’s previous holding in 2021. CVKeskus.ee is the leading job site in Estonia with the biggest selection of jobs.
Hungary
Ringier has had a presence in the Hungarian media market since 1993. These activities became part of the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG joint venture in 2014. In 2021 Ringier took over the entire Hungarian portfolio of the former joint venture, including market-leading daily Blikk, the Blikk.hu online portal, popular women’s weekly Kiskegyed, well-known glossy magazine Glamour and the leading classified jobs website Profession.hu.
Romania
Ringier Romania, which was established in 1992, is a key player on the local media market, managing over 120 newspapers and magazines and producing videos, web content and mobile platforms. The biggest publishing group in Romania, its portfolio includes some of the country’s best-known media titles and leading digital marketplaces such as Libertatea, GSP, ELLE, Viva!, Unica, Avantaje, Auto-Bild, Psychologies, eJobs.ro, WeAreHR and HRWorld. Bulgaria
In the 1990s, Ringier was active in the Bulgarian Media sector. In 2021, Ringier acquired the majority stakes in the Bulgarian companies – digital media group Sportal and content management system developers Digital Ventures. The most important brands of the group are Sportal.bg and the news platform Novini.bg. Digital Ventures owns Sportal365, a leading publishing platform for sports content that specialises in news, image galleries, videos, live statistics and results.
Greece
In 2023, Ringier's market entry into Greece took place via the sports media. The internationally operating Ringier Sports Media Group, founded in 2022, launched the digital sports media platform sportal.gr in Athens. Beyond its focus on football and basketball, the site offers up-to-date coverage of tennis, volleyball, athletics, and motorsports.

Ringier Axel Springer Polska is the leading publisher in the Polish digital market. United Classifieds develops and operates cutting-edge online classifieds-platform technology for a broad portfolio of classifieds platforms in the segments of real estate, automotive and general classifieds websites in Slovakia. In addition, the company builds and provides a wide range of modules operating over microservices for their platforms. Their services are used by more than 1.65 million users per month.
