Trailing Greenfield 22-15 at the half, the Mahar girls basketball team found a rhythm in the second half. 

The Senators outscored the Wave 17-10 in the third to knot the score at 32 going into the final eight minutes. In the fourth, the Mahar defense held Greenfield to three points to walk away with a 42-35 Franklin County League North victory in Orange. 

“The girls dug deep and had a great win against a solid Greenfield team,” Senator coach Steve Bonk said. 

Hayden Comeau scored 15 points, Thea Whitmore tallied 11 points and 15 rebounds, Lexi Ares scored all 10 of her points in the second half, Taylor Paluk recorded four points while Haylee Paluk snatched 11 rebounds in the victory. 

Lenox 55, Frontier 52 — It was a big Franklin County League North battle at Goodnow Gymnasium on Thursday. 

Lenox and Frontier — both unbeaten in league play — battled it out for 32 minutes, but it was the Millionaires who held on late to walk away with a victory. It was the first loss of the season for the Redhawks. 

Frontier led 26-23 at the half but the Millionaires turned it on in the third, taking a 44-37 lead after three. 

Harper Modestow led the way with 13 points, Addie Harrington tossed in 10 points, Olivia Machon scored eight points while Claire Kirkendall added seven points in the loss.

Turners 56, Renaissance 49 — The Thunder went down to Springfield and earned a road victory behind 22 points from Jackson Cogswell. 

Alex Quezada scored 12 points, Caden Williams and Kainen Stevens each scored eight points while Brody Girard tossed in five points in the winning effort.

Pathfinder 53, Mohawk Trail 30 — Logan Moore had the lone with for the Warriors, securing a pin at 157 in Mohawk Trail’s loss to the Pioneers on Wednesday in Buckland. 

Girls basketball

Smith Academy 47, Mohawk Trail 39 — Trailing 19-13 at the half, the Warriors were outscored 19-13 in the third, allowing the Falcons to pull away with a victory in Hatfield Wednesday. 

Bella Pettengill finished with 16 points, Zephyr Jetzon and Valerie Bzomowski each scored eight points while Natalie Lanoue added five points for Mohawk Trail.
