The Twin Valley School District has chosen its next leader.
Patrick Winters will be appointed the district’s new superintendent, according to a letter from school board President Gary McEwen sent recently to families in the district. The hiring is pending approval by the school board at its Dec. 14 meeting.
Winters will replace Robert Pleis, who is retiring after serving as Twin Valley’s superintendent for the past 13 years.
If approved, Winters will take over that role starting April 1.
Winters is currently the assistant superintendent in the Exeter School District, a title he has held for the past three years. He has previously worked in education as a high school English teacher, middle and high school principal and director of curriculum and instruction.
“The board of directors is confident that Dr. Winters’ proven leadership and experience at the local and state levels will positively impact the Twin Valley School District education system,” McEwen said in his message. “Based on the comprehensive search process, the board believes that Dr. Winters will continue the tradition of excellence from his tenure in the Exeter School District at the Twin Valley School District to successfully serve our community.”
Winters is expected to take part in the school board’s Dec. 14 meeting, sharing a brief overview of his background and some of his visions and goals for Twin Valley.
