August has rolled around, and Microsoft is being quite coy about what to expect with Xbox Game Pass games - with barely any new free titles to play in August 2024 being confirmed.

Leakers, however, reckon they have it sussed, and so far they have been right on the money.

We'll go into the leaked list, but it seems like it should be fairly watertight. If so, August looks to be a pretty good month for Game Pass.

July was chock-full of great titles, like Journey to the Savage Planet, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 and Flintlock: Siege of Dawn.

Whether or not it contends with the offerings of rival subscription service PlayStation Plus, we'll leave that to you.

But that's quite enough from us. Onto the games!

Xbox Game Pass games: Confirmed new free titles for August 2024

So far, we only have one confirmed game coming to Xbox Game Pass:

  • Mafia: Definitive Edition - 13th August

Known Game Pass leaker eXtas1s revealed a supposed full list which included Mafia: Definitive Edition before the official announcement was made, so we could well be seeing the following games:

  • Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato – 6th August
  • Creatures of Ava – 7th August
  • Crash N Sane Trilogy – 8th August
  • Mafia: Definitive Edition – 13th August (confirmed)
  • Wargroove 2 – 15th August
  • Atlas Fallen – 22nd August
  • Core Keeper – 27th August

Once Microsoft has announced more details, we'll update this page and let you know what other great games await!

What happened to Xbox Games with Gold?

Xbox Live Gold was discontinued on 1st September 2023, and those who kept their subscription will have been automatically swapped over to the new Xbox Game Pass Core tier as part of a price increase for Xbox Game Pass.

This change-up removes the two free monthly games and replaces them with a library of around 30 titles - including Halo 5: Guardians, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Forza Horizon 4, to name a few.

Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers will still be able to access online, as well as certain deals and discounts.

Microsoft plans to update the Game Pass Core library two to three times a year, and in December 2023 added Chivalry 2 (6th December) and Totally Reliable Delivery Service (6th December) to the service.

What other Xbox Game Pass games are coming up?
