Telefilm Canada announces the appointment of Sébastien Pigeon as Vice-President, Legal Services and Corporate Secretary

Sébastien Pigeon has been appointed Vice-President, Legal Services and Corporate Secretary at Telefilm Canada, and is based at Telefilm's head office in Montreal.

In his new role, Mr. Pigeon will help the organization maintain its high standards of governance and compliance, and contribute to its modernization. He will ensure rigorous oversight of legal and strategic practices, helping to secure Telefilm Canada's position as a partner of choice.

With extensive experience in the media and entertainment sector, Sébastien Pigeon has held a number of executive positions with key companies in the industry. Most notably, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal and Television Distribution Officer at Sphere Media, where he steered the distribution strategy and actively contributed to the organization's growth. Sébastien was also appointed to the CMPA Board of Directors in September 2023, a position he held until recently. This experience gave him an invaluable perspective on the industry's national dynamics.

A lawyer with a master's degree in information technology law from Université de Montréal, he began his career in 2001 at Zone3 before joining Ogilvy Renault (now Norton Rose), where he practiced copyright and entertainment law. He then spent over 12 years at AETIOS Productions as General Manager, Vice-President Legal Affairs and Executive Producer.
