FC Porto tied 2-2 away, against Rio Ave, in a game in which referee Gustavo Correia, and his entire refereeing team, took on the role of main protagonists of the match, with interventions that had a direct influence in the final score.
In a match that was inexplicable in terms of the referee's disciplinary criteria, four minutes in Petrussi violently hits Samu in the heel, but no card was shown. Neither the severity of the fouls nor the repeated misbehaviour were worth a single card to Rio Ave during the first half despite the balance of 10-1(!) in terms of fouls at halftime.
The disastrous first half of the AF Porto refereeing team would not end without disregarding a clear penalty pass over Rodrigo Mora, for a push from the back by Olinho who, without any possibility of playing the ball, only tried to disrupt the player. Neither the referee nor the var Vasco Santos - who is adding bad decisions as a video referee this season - were able to see what was obvious to everyone at the stadium and on television.
The second half also had a handball in the home area by defender Demir Tiknaz, 55 minutes in. Curiously - or perhaps not - this happened less than two days after a rebound within the area of a player from FC Porto's B team was punished with a penalty, so here is another example of the different criterion of the refereeing teams before this type of plays, with the decision on the pitch going, once again, against the Dragons.
In between all this, there was no lack of attempts by Rodrigo Mora, Eustáquio, Samu and company, Nehuen Pérez even made his debut scoring in blue and white and Otavio also found the bottom of goalkeeper Cezary Miszta's nets, but Rio Ave took advantage of two mistakes made by the blue and white defence to score two goals that, despite the number of opportunities created by the Dragons, meant that FC Porto failed to get the three points.
