Volusia County Approves $600K Grant for D Ranch Nature Center

The Volusia County Council has approved a $600,000 ECHO (Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor Recreation)grant to fund the transformation of a 5,000-square-foot building at D Ranch Preserve in Deltona into a state-of-the-art nature center. Situated on 476 acres of conservation land in the Florida Wildlife Corridor, the preserve is home to diverse ecosystems and endangered species like the Florida Scrub Jay and Gopher Tortoise.

The new D Ranch Nature Center will feature educational exhibits, public spaces, and essential amenities, enhancing eco-tourism, outdoor recreation, and environmental conservation efforts. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and guided programs, ensuring a lasting impact on conservation and community engagement.
