Mayor-President Sid Edwards Announces Two New Hires

BATON ROUGE, LA - Monday, January 27, 2025 - Mayor-President Sid Edwards announced the hiring of Dr. Yolanda Burnette-Lankford as Chief Service Officer and Matthew Edwards as Community Outreach Coordinator.

Dr. Burnette-Lankford, a public policy expert with over 20 years of experience, brings a proven track record of leadership, academic achievement, and dedication to community empowerment. A graduate of Southern University's Nelson Mandela College, she holds a doctorate in Public Policy and Urban Affairs and has impacted education and public affairs locally and globally. In her new role, she will focus on strengthening community engagement for Baton Rouge residents.

Matthew Edwards, with 24 years of coaching and 15 years of teaching experience, holds degrees in Social Studies Education and Educational Leadership. Passionate about building relationships and partnerships, he looks forward to advancing community initiatives that benefit all residents.

Both leaders bring expertise and enthusiasm to their roles, reinforcing the administration's commitment to serving Baton Rouge.
