Feedstuffs reported a study conducted by the Juday Group for the U.S. Meat Export Federation showed U.S. pork and beef exports accounted for $2.24 billion in market value to corn, $525 million to distiller's dried grains, and $1.12 billion to soybeans in 2024 . . . According to Magnetic Ag, consumption of goat meat is on the rise in the U.S. Sales reached $27 million in 2024 compared to $16.5 million in 2023 . . . The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) said it is reinstating the July Cattle report and county estimates for crops and livestock. Last year the agency announced it would no longer issue the reports due to budget cuts . . . NASS reported on Friday that Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.59 million cattle on feed on March 1, up 1% from last year . . . The Van Trump Report noted a report from Ember, an energy think tank, said coal generated 15% of U.S. electricity last year compared to 17% from solar and wind combined. It's the first time wind and solar produced more electricity than coal.
