Arcadia City Council Proclaims March 7 – 14 as Arbor Day

Trees are essential to the character and charm of Arcadia, and the Arcadia City Council is proud to proclaim March 7 - 14, 2025, as Arbor Day!

Trees in Arcadia
In Arcadia, the Public Works Services Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of trees located in parks, rights-of-way, medians and public facilities. Every tree is trimmed every four years, preserving the health and safety of these trees.

City Law Protects Trees
A Tree Preservation Ordinance was adopted to recognize oaks, sycamores, and other mature trees as significant aesthetic and ecological resources as well as valuable environmental assets. The intent of the tree regulations is to preserve and enhance property values through conserving and protecting trees.

  1. To prune or trim a protected tree, you must obtain a written recommendation from a certified arborist.
  2. To remove a protected tree, you must obtain a tree removal permit from the City of Arcadia, Planning Division, (626) 574-5423.

Arcadia Beautiful Commission (ABC) Celebrates Arbor Day
The ABC celebrates Arbor Day annually by sponsoring a tree planting event in the community. Additionally, the ABC will celebrate Arbor Day at selected City's Concerts/Movies in the Park. Attendees can receive free tree planting brochures, saplings, and various other gardening items, while supplies last. Check back in the summer for more details!
