During political consultations at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, State Secretary Marko Štucin met with Wael Hamed, Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Abu Bakr Hefny, Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Regional Affairs, and Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates.

Slovenia and Egypt enjoy a long-standing friendship, which has been further strengthened in recent years through reciprocal high-level visits. The two countries share a mutual interest in enhancing economic cooperation. In this context, State Secretary Štucin highlighted transport and logistics, the pharmaceutical industry and artificial intelligence as promising areas for cooperation.

The high-level officials also exchanged views on migration, EU-Egypt relations, developments in the Middle East and Ukraine, including other topical foreign policy issues.
