Balfour Beatty has featured in Chartered Institute of Building celebrating the success of its employee engagement programme, My Contribution (MyC), which encourages innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
In the article, Melanie Page, Head of Group Innovation Programmes at Balfour Beatty, shares how the initiative empowers employees to share ideas that help shape the way the company works. Over 15,000 ideas have been submitted through MyC to date, with 25% implemented - delivering real change and savings of over £3.2 million in 2024 alone.
Melanie said: "We have thousands of experts across the company. They're the ones who know what we should be doing to make Balfour Beatty as strong as it can be. MyC gives them a voice and connects them directly to our strategy."
The piece also features Senior Project Manager Matt Twiss, whose energy-saving plug socket idea has significantly reduced carbon emissions and energy use on Balfour Beatty VINCI's HS2 site. Matt said: "This isn't just a quick fix - it's a genuine improvement that's changing our operations and our culture."
