NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: John Binkley

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35466

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: 64.733635 N, 148.107454 W; located within the Tanana River in the Cripple Creek area.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Designated Material Site ADL 419774; SW¼SW¼ of Section 14, Township 2 South, Range 3 West, Fairbanks Meridian, containing approximately 3.00 acres, more or less.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: A material sales contract (under ADL 422535) application was submitted on March 10, 2025. This land use permit seeks to support the excavation and hauling of material from DMS ADL 419774, within the Tanana River, to the project area, a road designed to connect the applicant's private property to Rosie Creek Trail.

REQUESTED TERM: The applicant is seeking a permit for the maximum period of 5 years, with work occurring between the months of March and May every year.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 9, 2025, by 5pm

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
