After wrapping up their regular season late last week with a heart-breaking loss late vs Wixom St Catherine, the Dearborn Heights Crestwood girls’ basketball team opened up its run through the state playoffs on Wednesday.

The hosts for a week-long district in Division 1, Crestwood faced a familiar foe in Livonia Churchill, whom they defeated less than two weeks prior back on Feb 21 by a final score of 47-44.

In what was virtually a carbon-copy game of the first meeting, at least in terms of the final score, the Chargers from Crestwood were able to outlast the Chargers from Churchill by the same score of 47-44 and advance to the district championship game.
