Despite the Cincinnati Bengals' 4-7 record, star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has been exceptional, consistently performing as the best player at his position week in and week out through the team's first 11 games of the season.

While the Bengals have struggled with heartbreaking losses, Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow have undeniably been among the league's best. As the Bengals head into their Week 12 bye, Chase is firmly on Triple Crown watch.

The Triple Crown, awarded to a player who leads the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns in the same season, has been achieved 16 times in NFL history by 12 different players. The most recent to accomplish the feat was Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp in 2021.

Chase, however, joined an elite group with his performance on Sunday, becoming the first player since Randy Moss in 2007 to record 70+ receptions, 1,000+ receiving yards, and 12+ touchdowns through 11 games. He joins Moss, Marvin Harrison (1999 and 2001), and Terrell Owens (2001) as the only wide receivers in NFL history to achieve this milestone—all of whom are Hall of Famers.

This season, through the first 11 games, Ja'Marr Chase has recorded 73 receptions, 1,056 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns, and is averaging 14.5 yards per reception.

While the Bengals' offense hasn't been the issue, consistently firing on all cylinders and producing massive offensive numbers, they continue to struggle with closing out games. Whether it's the defense, special teams, or simply a lack of execution in the fourth quarter, the Bengals can't seem to finish with wins.

Still, none of this takes away from Chase's remarkable performance in a season where he chose to bet on himself during a contract year. He is now poised to earn more than he originally anticipated this offseason, with the Bengals likely leading the charge to make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
