Towards the end, instead of pulling the entire length of the necklace through the loop of thread, I go from the back! This piece is knotted on wine colored thread and will be finished with a chunky bolt clasp. Perfect length to be worn long and so many combinations for layering! Message me if you like this color palette. ✨ #colorfuljewelry #bts #knottednecklace #bohonecklace #boholuxejewelry" Knotted Bead Necklace Diy, Knotted Bead Necklace, Knotted Gemstone Necklace, Beaded Necklace Tutorial, Beaded Necklace Diy, Necklace Tutorial, Gemstone Beaded Necklace, Colorful Jewelry, Disc Necklace

This method works only if your threads and bead holes play nicely together. What this means is that the bead holes are wide enough for the doubled up thread to glide smoothly through and that there will also be enough space for a needle to pass through when I finish the ends by back knotting. Here I am working on a custom Jungle Vibes piece with silver open ends. 🌴🐅🐒🪵🐍 #junglevibes #jungly #safarivibes #knottednecklace #handknotted #customizedjewelry #customnecklace #necklace #summerjewelry #bis #behindthescenes #xoxofromris" Double Hole Beads, Hand Knotted Jewelry, Macrame Bracelet Patterns, Jungle Vibes, Hand Knotted Necklace, Thread Necklace, Jewelry Knots, Macrame Bracelet, Knot Necklace

This is one of many ways to finish a knotted necklace! This technique is called BACK KNOTTING. In my opinion, it is the most secure and tidy way to finish a knotted piece. You don’t need to use metal findings aside from your clasp or jump ring (also called “findings”)- you just a need a short piece of FRENCH WIRE which is a tightly coiled tube of ultra fine wire.

You could omit the French wire if you wanted to, if you were making a quick, trendy necklace for yourself and didn’t want to buy a whole pack of FW. But if you are working with precious stones and metal, or making something to gift or sell, I’d absolutely go the FW route.

My French wire is from RioGrande. The material is a yellow finished brass.
