John Burroughs Middle School and Gifted Magnet is the 2012 Local District 3 Academic Pentathlon winner! The third annual competition, patterned after the Academic Decathlon, consisted of 12 standard based questions in academic prowess, scholastic excellence and pop culture. Congratulations to Danely Espinoza Amaya, Sheila Milon, Miranda Rector and Khoa Tran, as well as the coaches Ms. Beneke, Ms. Kinney, Mrs. Maye, Mr. Mitchell, and Mr. Swanson! Our team of Year 7 & Year 9 Immanuel students joined hundreds of students from across South Australia during the 2021 da Vinci Decathlon; an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students.

Our Year 7 Team placed 3rd in the Code Breaking activity and our Year 9 team achieved great success this year placing 3rd overall, earning the Bronze Medal.
