A Lot Of Improvements Are Coming For Mir 0.13, Including Work Towards Libinput

We've known since March that Mir 0.13 would be a very large release and it's certainly panning out that way.

Previously known features to Mir 0.13 were switching to C++14 compiler support, changing from triple to double buffering by default, a new buffer streams impkementation, input changes, early Snappy packages, and much more. This week the Mir 0.13 change-log has been updated with more information to reflect this new version of Canonical's display server for Ubuntu.

Some of the other changes include a new a default window manager for the mir_demo_server, various Mir demo improvements, support for HWC 1.4 on Android, support for running a second display when using the Android driver stack, new client APIs for basic window manager, work towards libinput integration, dropping libmirclient/libmirserver dependencies in the client-platform drivers, and various other changes.

The updated list of Mir 0.13 changes can be found via this Launchpad.net Bzr revision. It's interesting in particular that Mir developers are finally jumping toward the libinput train for unified input handling considering it's been largely developed by Wayland developers, although now it too works under the X.Org Server via the xf86-input-libinput DDX.
