After 13 years, a popular taproom in York City has changed hands.

Effective Monday, Holy Hound Taproom at 57 W. Market St. in the restored National House Hotel is under new ownership and management.

According to a press release, an investment group associated with Royal Square Development & Construction purchased the restaurant and plans to continue to operate it for years to come.

The casual Holy Hound is known for its 30 rotating craft beers on tap along with bottled beer, single malt scotch and small-batch bourbon.

It also serves a menu built around sustainably sourced ingredients.

Dylan Bauer, President & CEO of Royal Square, said the company purchased Granfalloons Tavern in 2020 to preserve the charm and history of a 40-year-old neighborhood bar.

“We focused on customer satisfaction and enhancing menu offerings. Now that we’ve achieved that, we are ready for the next challenge,” Bauer said.

Holy Hound’s new owners said they plan minimal changes but will shut down the establishment for about 10 days over the Fourth of July holiday.

Those changes include cosmetic renovations and kitchen improvements.

Jesse De Salvo, General Manager of Holy Hound Taproom and Granfalloons Tavern, said they are looking for feedback from the community.

“Right now, we’re leaning toward live music, but we’d love to hear from the public,” he said.
