A familiar restaurant property in Mechanicsburg is transforming again.
This summer, Angelina’s Bar & Grill is online to open at the former Hops & Barleys Pub & Grill at 398 N. York St.
Rebecca Yearick of Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership confirmed father and son duo Sal and Sal, Jr. Passalacqua, who own Sal’s Pizza at 304 N. York St. in Mechanicsburg, purchased the establishment.
She said renovations are underway and Angelina’s is on track to open “before summer.”
The family is sharing updates on Angelina’s Facebook page.
Angelina’s will operate with a brewery license carrying Pa.-made beers, wines and alcoholic beverages.
Hops & Barleys closed last fall. Its liquor license was sold to BJ’s Wholesale for its new Beltway Commons store in Hampden Township.
Hops & Barleys opened in 2019 at the York Street Grille, operated by Anne Arroyo and Dave Guy. Previously, it operated as Grandpa’s Growler.
Angelina’s hours will be from about 2 or 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.
