Legendary rocker Dave Mason announced this week that he is cancelling the remainder of his “Traffic Jam 2024″ tour after doctors discovered that he has a serious heart condition that requires immediate medical attention.

Mason said on Instagram the issue was found “during a routine appointment.”

Fans were, understandably, overwhelming in their show of support, love and prayer.

“Take care Dave,” one person responded. “Come back only when you’re Feelin’ Alright.”

“Glad they caught it in time to do something about it,” another person responded. “Praying for your speedy and full recovery.”

“Take care and listen to the doctors,” another wrote. “Wishing you a speedy recovery!”

“We are praying that you make a speedy recovery Dave and look forward to seeing you again in 2025,” another wrote. “God bless you my friend.”

While Mason’s revelation is concerning, the statement on his Instagram did say that his “team of doctors expect a full and successful recovery, and Mason plans to resume his touring plans in 2025.”

Mason co-founded the band Traffic along with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood in 1967.

According to Variety, he has also played on albums with the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 as a member of Traffic.
