As an OJP grantee, you are a key partner in preventing violence and strengthening safety. Your work to actively promote civil rights and equity, serve victims and our nation’s youth and build trust between law enforcement and the community is why you are an essential part of the OJP story as we work together to create a safer, more just, and equitable nation for all.
We encourage you to showcase the impact your organization has made in your community by sharing your stories and best practices to help us amplify how your organization helps create safe and just communities. The following are general tips to help share your grant’s impact with the public:
Best Practices for Engaging with the Media
- Highlight your project goals.
- Focus on the impact your work has on those you serve or support.
- Showcase relevant events, activities or trainings.
- Feature quotes from your organization’s leadership.
- Share input on your award amount.
Reach out to your OJP grant manager to request a quote from our leadership or for assistance with amplifying your press releases and news updates.
Don’t forget to review your award conditions and coordinate with your grant manager to ensure the appropriate funding disclosure and disclaimer language is included.
