London’s ‘Live Odyssey’ has announced an immersive collaboration with John Lennon‘s family.
Set to kick off on May 22 in Camden, ‘Live Odyssey’ has been previously described as “a celebration of the rich tapestry of British music, offering a unique experience for music lovers of all ages” through “a groundbreaking tribute to the sounds that shaped Britain”.
The attraction – which combines a show, an exhibition museum and live experience together – will take attendees through six decades of music via a two-and-a-half-hour adventure that captures the evolution of British music, from the early anthems of the ’60s and ’70s to the Britpop explosion of the ’90s and today’s cutting-edge hits.
Lennon’s sister Julia Baird will be unveiling a multi-sensory immersive exhibit dedicated to the late Beatle on its opening which “details the early years that shaped Lennon through to a life of stratospheric fame with The Beatles.”
“This is the brutally honest story of The Beatles legend by his sister Julia, who reveals the unorthodox childhood they shared, memories of their mother, renewed family bonds, and the many sides of John Lennon,” a press release added.
“Julia is set to reveal the battle between two strong, self-willed women – John’s mother and his Aunt Mimi – to win custody of John. Julia is candid about the sadness as well as the joy of their broken family life. She also details the devastating loss of their mother Julia in a road accident – and describes the painful legacy for the entire family, especially John as he garners extreme fame with the Beatles.”

Elsewhere in the exhibition, fans will move through six different rooms, each immersing guests in a different musical era and recreating the sights, sounds, and cultural moments that define each decade. There is freedom of movement between the live rooms and adjoining bars in most so people can party all the way through the experience.
Included in the list of acts set to be represented are the previously revealed Libertines, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Kate Bush, The Smiths, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Blur, Radiohead, Spice Girls, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and Stormzy.
Previously speaking to NME about ‘Live Odyssey’, The Libertines’ Carl Barât said: “This is something truly special. Performing in Camden for this project brought everything full circle for us. Knowing it will live on as part of Live Odyssey is truly exciting – it’s a tribute to the music that shaped us and the fans who’ve supported us.
“This is something truly special for us. Performing for this in Camden felt full circle for us, from squatters to holograms, buskers to beams of light. Knowing it will live on as part of ‘Live Odyssey’ is both exciting and surreal – it’s a tribute to the people and music that shaped us and the place that made it possible.”
Bandmate Pete Doherty added: “British music thrives on its history and its ability to evolve. Being part of this is thrilling – it’s like stepping into the future while paying homage to the past.”
‘Live Odyssey’ will also be supported by the Music Venue Trust with a portion of ticket sales donated to their mission to keep grassroots gig spaces alive and thriving, whilst exclusive merchandise sales will go towards supporting UK venues directly.
