Statewide Drought Warning Declared
On November 13th, 2024, amid drying conditions, the Department has declared a Statewide Drought Warning. A link to the Administrative Order, and more information is available here.


Drought Warning Public Hearing
On November 12th, 2024 the Department will hold a virtual public hearing to solicit public input on a potential declaration of a Drought Warning. More information about this hearing is available here.


Statewide Drought Watch Declared
On October 17, 2024 the Department declared a statewide Drought Watch. You can learn more about this, and the Department�s Drought monitoring program here.


Final 2024 New Jersey Statewide Water Supply Plan Published
The 2024 New Jersey Statewide Water Supply Plan has been published. You can read the complete Plan, and explore the accompanying story map here.


WQAA/Asset Management Rule Proposal
The Department recently published a rule proposal which would codify pertinent requirements of the Water Quality Accountability Act, among other changes. More information about the proposal, and public comment are available here.

– WAAS Tool

The Water Allocation Availability Screening (WAAS) Tool helps identify water supply areas of concern to assess probable water availability and potential permitting process impediments and/or issues. This tool hosted in the NJ Geology Information App. This tool is available here. Click the “hammer” icon on the upper right of the toolbar to start the tool.
