Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Sing 2' on February 11

Nickelodeon will host the network premiere of the blockbuster movie Sing 2 (2011) on Sunday, February 11 at 4:00 p.m. (ET/PT)! It all leads up to Super Bowl LVIII From Bikini Bottom at 6:30 p.m. (ET)!

Sing 2

Illumination’s smash animated franchise returns with big dreams and spectacular hit songs as can-do koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet …in the glittering entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch: They first have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star—played by legendary music icon Bono, making his animated film debut—to join them.

Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) and his cast have turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.

But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother pig Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker porcupine Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, porcine provocateur extraordinaire Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by a ruthless mogul wolf named Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).

In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife and hasn’t been seen since.

As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage. What begins as Buster’s dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.

Sing 2 is written and directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Garth Jennings and features, in addition to Bono’s and Cannavale’s roles, new characters played by music superstars Pharrell Williams and Halsey, Black Panther’s Letitia Wright, and comedians Eric Andre and Chelsea Peretti.

The film is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy. Sing 2 combines dozens of classic rock and pop hit songs, electrifying performances, breathtaking artistry, and Illumination’s signature humor and heart into the definitive feel-good cinematic event.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: First Look at Issue #2

The Crisis in a half shell continues

Who could have guessed that Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would wind up being two great tastes that taste even greater together? DC Entertainment and IDW are continuing their hot streak of hilariously over-the-top collisions between the rain-slicked gloom of Gotham and the cartoon color of the Turtles’ New York City with Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III--the third and final miniseries in the crossover saga. And this time, TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman is getting in on the action alongside writer James Tynion IV and artist Freddie Williams II. Take a look at this awesome preview of Batman/TMNT III #2 below, via GameSpot!

While the first miniseries brought the villainous Foot Clan to Gotham and the second brought longtime Batman foe, Bane, to NYC, the third series is getting bigger than ever before as Krang--though probably not the Krang you might be familiar with--poses a threat to the multiverse itself.

That’s right, the weird and wild world of Batman/TMNT is going full Cosmic Crisis as Krang is mixed in with the Anti-Monitor. And that’s only the beginning of Batman/TMNT III’s reimagining of classic characters: The Turtles themselves all borrow looks from the roster of Robin alumni like Red Hood and Nightwing while Joker is now the Shredder-like leader of the terrifying Smile Clan.

Issue #2 continues the multiversal insanity as Batman and the Turtles are pitted against strange black-and-white doppelgangers of themselves that may or may not be from some other dimension. Or, maybe, something even more insidious is at play.

Batman/TMNT III hits shelves Wednesday, June 5, 2019!

Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, joins series artist Freddie E. Williams II as guest artist for the second issue of BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III! Krang’s true power has been revealed, and now it’s up to Batman and the Turtles to stop him, but their only hope may lie with the strange, yet familiar, visitor from another world.

From Bleeding Cool:

An Origin Retold in Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2 Preview

The worlds of Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are undergoing a crisis in Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, the third crossover comic between the caped crusader and the heroes in a half shell. For one thing, the continuities of the two universes have been merged, with Batman and the Turtles living together and sharing characteristics, with Turtles dressed like Robins and a Shredder/Joker mash-up.

And now, Batman and the Robin-Turtles have come face-to-face with someone claiming to be the original Raphael, in authentic black and white just like the original Eastman and Laird comics. And to prove he’s the real thing, he’s able to easily kick all five of their asses while simultaneously recounting his own origin story.

See it all in the preview of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2 below, and look for the issue in stores on Wednesday.

Check out the clip below, and see how Oswald Cobblepot does against not just one Bat hero, but a squad of four ooze-boosted mutants:

The kind of battle shown in the above clip is guaranteed to get the attention of the caped crusader, but he's bringing the rest of his Batman family along with him. Once the initial meetings are out of the way, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo will be teaming up with Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. Unfortunately, Shredder is also the kind of villain who attracts other evil masterminds to his side, forging an alliance with Ra's al Ghul, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, and more. Troy Baker leads the voice cast pulling double duty as both Batman and Joker, with Darren Criss debuting his version of Raphael, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's Rachel Bloom bringing Batgirl Barbara Gordon to life. DC, IDW and Nickelodeon Announce 'Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III' Comic Series [Updated w/ Art]

Hot on the heels of announcing Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, an all-new animated movie based on the first volume of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, DC, IDW and Nickelodeon and reuniting again Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, a stunning six-issue conclusion to the smash-hit crossover trilogy, released to mark the 80th anniversary of Batman and the 35th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in May 2019! Check out the official press release below for the full details!:

DC, IDW AND NICKELODEON REUNITE FOR
BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III

Two of Pop Culture’s Biggest, Most Iconic Brands Team Up in Landmark Anniversary Year

BURBANK, CA and SAN DIEGO, CA – (February 15, 2019) – The 80th anniversary of Batman collides with the 35th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this May as DC Publishing and IDW Publishing today announced plans for BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III, a stunning six-issue conclusion to the smash-hit crossover trilogy.

“I still remember the e-mail asking me if I wanted to write the first Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover,” said series writer James Tynion IV. “My brain couldn’t even process what I was reading for a few seconds, and I started having a panic attack about fitting it into my work schedule. Then, finally, I pictured Michelangelo’s reaction to seeing the T. rex in the Batcave for the first time and started laughing out loud.”

“When I got the call asking if I would be interested in doing some covers for a Batman/TMNT crossover,” added Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, “the ten-year-old Batman fan got up and ran around the room screaming at the top of his lungs with excitement…then the fifty-year-old life-long Batman fan did the same thing!”

Tynion IV (BATMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK) reunites with artist Freddie E. Williams II (INJUSTICE VS. MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, HE-MAN/THUNDERCATS) and colorist Jeremy Colwell for this final chapter starring Gotham’s Dark Knight and New York’s Heroes in a Half Shell. Eastman will illustrate variant covers for the series and, as he did in collaboration with Williams II on 2017’s KAMANDI CHALLENGE, contribute interior artwork at a pivotal point in the new run.

“The story for volume three is a blast, and I am having the time of my life illustrating it,” said Williams II. “And lucky for me, I’m not alone in this grand task. I’m having a huge and exciting personal crossover of my own with one of my all-time heroes and favorite artists, Kevin Eastman! Say what? Yup, you heard that right! We’ve got something so fun and exciting planned! I’m geeking out about it every day, and I think all of you will, too!”

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the TMNT, as our creative partner on the series,” continued Tynion IV. “Kevin will be working closely with Freddie, contributing art on part of the run in a really exciting way that I can’t wait for fans to see. We’re going to see Bats and Turtles collide like never before in a story so big, it’s the perfect way to conclude our Batman/TMNT trilogy.”

In the first two blockbuster volumes, our heroes battled the evil of the Foot Clan in Gotham and then went head-to-head with Bane in New York. But now, in the third and biggest chapter, Krang has gotten his hands on the most dangerous technologies in the DC Universe—and no universe is safe from his wrath!

“For the last few years, with the incredible Freddie E. Williams II, I’ve been able to shepherd the meetings of two of pop culture’s biggest, most iconic brands in huge, exciting ways,” said Tynion IV. “We’ve brought Shredder to Gotham leading a riot of mutant Arkham inmates, and we’ve seen Bane bring Venom to the streets of the Turtles’ New York City. But now, on the 80th anniversary of Batman, and the 35th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, we’ve got the biggest, craziest idea ever, one that brings all three volumes full circle to make a real statement about what these characters mean to us.”

“I am so incredibly proud of the series so far,” concluded Eastman. “Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has easily been one of my biggest personal geek-out moments ever, and from what I’ve seen of series III, my advice to fans is to buckle up, things are about to get seriously crazy! Forever grateful that James and Freddie invited me into their backyard to play for a bit.”

Fans of the comic series will see the Dark Knight continue to fight like never before with wall-to-wall ninja action in BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES III beginning May 1, 2019.

Also announced this week by Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment and Nickelodeon is Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, an all-new animated movie arriving on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital later this spring, based on Tynion IV and Williams II’s first volume of BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.

An award party for Gotham City's Man of the Year, Bruce Wayne, quickly descends into chaos when the Joker crashes the scene with a full gallery of rogues at his side. With help from the Riddler, Harley Quinn, the Penguin, Two-Face, Bane and Catwoman, the Joker steals the award, along with money and gems. But Batman and Robin capture them all. Meanwhile, trailing in his run for president, Lex Luthor breaks the Joker out of jail to produce a gas that will make voters love Luthor. In return, Luthor gives the Joker a device that can defeat Batman by dismantling all his gadgets and vehicles. As Lex destroys Batman's tech, Batman reluctantly turns to Superman for help. Unfortunately, the Joker also knows how to produce Kryptonite. With jailbreaks, chases, exploding pies, a giant Kryptonite-powered Joker robot, two superheroes taking a city bus and finally a visit from the rest of the Justice League, it all escalates to a prolonged battle to stop the Joker from taking Gotham City apart "brick by brick"!
