They defeated Avon Lake, 8-1, and Amherst, 4-1. They will go on the road to face Olmsted Falls on April 14. … The Bulldogs lost three straight SWC games, including a 10-6 setback to Berea-Midpark. … The Comets remain at No. 3, as they beat Elyria (14-0) and Avon (4-3). After defeating Avon Lake, 13-3, Avon swept Eastlake North, 3-0 and 10-4, in a home doubleheader. … Elyria Catholic is the area’s only undefeated team with wins over Lake Catholic (4-1) and Painesville Harvey (10-0). … Midview rose to No. 5 with wins over Strongsville (11-2) and Elyria (14-5). … Against a tough schedule, Keystone continues to struggle, but beat Firelands, 7-1, on April 7. The game was suspended with Keystone taking a 5-1 lead and was completed two days later. … Columbia is on a path to crack the top 10. Its lone loss was to Independence, 3-2, which run-ruled Keystone (10-0). The Raiders also defeated Massillon Washington, 10-9.
