General Hospital has been all over the place lately, but the latest move has some viewers outraged.
The storylines, cast changes, and other issues have put the ABC soap on thin ice with viewers, and it isn’t getting any better.
There had been rumblings that the writers were working on a pairing between Jason (Steve Burton) and Anna (Finola Hughes), but many didn’t think twice after reading the speculation.
However, that all changed when Thursday’s episode ended with Jason grabbing Anna for a kiss.
Immediately, social media lit up, and it wasn’t with praise.
Why would the writers think a Jason and Anna pairing, affair, or whatever they plan to do would work?

Since Thursday’s General Hospital aired, X has been on fire with comments and outrage over Jason and Anna kissing while imprisoned at Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) compound.
One viewer thinks that perhaps the kiss was a diversion but isn’t interested in exploring a Jason and Anna pairing.
Another viewer caught the scene and shared it on X, using the hashtag “whyratingsarelow.”
Someone else mentioned how General Hospital has gone to “hell.”
While plenty were upset about the kiss, some viewers weren’t bothered.
One General Hospital viewer wrote, “We’ll probably get a square with Carly & Brennan and Jason & Anna, which at any point, they can swap them out the way other soap squares switch down the road… Personally, i’m not mad at any pairing because I find all 4 characters to be interesting. #GH”
Someone else mentioned they would take the Jason and Anna pairing over Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).

The ABC soap is the only one left after All My Children and One Life to Live were canceled over a decade ago.
With dwindling ratings and unhappy viewers, the writers don’t seem concerned with the show’s future.
Not long ago, we learned Kelly Monaco was fired from the show and would be killed off. Her final scenes have reportedly been filmed, which puts her ending sometime during November sweeps.
With Lulu (Alexa Havins) being brought back into the fold and Johnathan Jackson already on-screen, Port Charles will look much different in the coming months.
Whether Jason and Anna’s kiss was a distraction or something more, it has ruffled the feathers of long-time viewers.

I was not happy with the kiss between Anna and Jason and it made me want to throw up. The writers are ruining GH. Another thing is the killing off characters or firing them, like for instance Roger Howarth, Scotty just to bring back previous characters. But, what bothers me more than anything else is Drew dipping in all the time with the ladies on the show whether they are eligible or not Ninia is okay but Willow is disgusting. I am tired of his ass. He hasn’t been a good actor no matter what part he is playing. Drew has to go. he can go play games on Game Network.
I think Drew and Willow is far more ridiculous, but Anna and Jason don’t work feor.me either!
I think they make a perfect couple.. There is alot of chemistry between them. keep them together
It was fine to me. Jason will change his life after Sam dies to raise Danny. I think it will be nice for Jason and Anna to explore what ever this is going👍
I thought it was hot. I see the dilemma of Jason getting together with Anna, Robin’s mom. However, Anna is a woman first. She and Jason have gone through alot together. And Jason is not the hs Quartermaine kid that Robin knew. Even though she was with him after he became Jason Morgan…it’s been about 25 years. I mean look at Cates. In 25 years he changed so much I didn’t recognize him. Lol. I went there.
What is up with the writers of General Hospital? You take a sweet young couple like Michael and Willow and throw Drew into the mix- ugh, then you try and put Jason and Anna together, OMG, you throw hints out there about matronly Molly with young cutey Dex. Stick with the couples that work… Sam and Dante, Gio and Trina, Kristina/Blaze, Sasha and Cody.
It seems weird watching Anna and Jason kiss. I was hoping Liz and Jason went on that adventure to rescue lucky and that jason and liz kissed. The writers got it wrong again!
Made me shut thow off and I am not coming back unless Jason is with Elizabeth and since the show refuse to write for them, bye. The Gates are coming and I have another soap to watch. No issues for me. GH making a huge mistake.

I think the Anna Jason kiss was outrageous! Jason use to date Anna’s daughter Robin for goodness sake! The writers are clearly crazy! If this keeps up ABC’s only remaining soap will be canceled! Maybe that’s the goal! I’ve seen it all killing off Sam is the craziest thing yet! Poison hips,Chief of staff switching test results , making Alexis a drunk again , killing off Agent Cates..worst recast in Soap history! This show is going down. Like the titanic. I’m going to the new soap the gates!

Drew and willow is a very thing from every way you can write it but Jason and Anna is just stupid.
GH has been a mess for years. It was temporarily revived with the arrival of OLTL characters as well as GH throw backs like Anna, however, quickly fell apart. Eliminating Sam is a mistake probably dictated by budget but purging a few useless characters like Nina (useless after Staffard left) and Laura would cut costs. I still miss Howarth, too.
GH once had lush production values. That, too, is gone, with only CBS soaps looking professional.
