There are two more weather systems that could bring at least some spurts of snow to parts of Michigan in the next week.
Of course Michigan seems to have three separate zones of weather most of the time. Southern Lower Michigan often has much different weather compared to northern Lower Michigan. The Upper Peninsula has a whole different weather pattern than northern Lower Michigan.
So when I say Michigan isn’t done with snow in the next week, I may not be talking about southern Lower Michigan.
Wait. I actually am talking about southern Michigan also on the chance of at least a spurt or two of snowflakes.
The data is showing Monday night/Tuesday morning and then Friday are the two periods when snow showers are likely. The farther north you are in Michigan, the greater your chance of seeing snow, and even seeing some accumulation.
Here’s the radar forecast for late Monday into Tuesday. On the backside of this storm system there will be cold air. This should set off snow showers from the U.P. to as far south as Traverse City, Cadillac and Houghton Lake.

The Upper Peninsula could have a few inches of snow out of the Monday night snow. Far northern Lower Michigan could have an inch on the grass by Tuesday morning. Southern Lower will probably not see any snowflakes Monday night.

Much of our best data is showing a cold pocket aloft coming down into Michigan this coming Friday. Here’s the radar forecast then, and it’s more aggressive on snow in the air for all of us in southern Michigan.

It’s a long ways out to give an amount, but the graphic below shows the chance of one-half inch or more.

Will Michigan be done with snow after next Saturday morning? Yes!
