ANN ARBOR, MI - A water main break early Friday morning shut down a portion of State Street.

The water main broke at 2 a.m., Jan. 17. All southbound lanes between Stimson Street and Boardwalk Drive are closed, according to a city alert.

Drivers should find alternative routes and avoid the area, officials said.

There is currently no reason to believe that water quality has been impacted, according to the city.

The city encourages residents or businesses experiencing low or no water pressure to submit a service request via the A2 Fix It app or online so that staff can investigate the issue.
