Say hello to Grandpa Eminem.
Hailie Jade Scott, the daughter of the Grammy award-winning rapper from Detroit, announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Evan McClintock, welcomed their first baby earlier this month.
The 29-year-old honored her father with the newborn’s name, Elliot Marshall McClintock. Eminem’s real name is Marshall Mathers.
Scott posted a photo of her baby in a light blue hooded sweater in front of a sign that read, “Elliot Marshall McClintock 03.14.25.”
“It’s so weird to think about… I can’t even wrap my head around it,” Scott said on her podcast. “I have to meet this human that I’ve created. What’s he gonna look like? What’s he gonna ... what’s his personality gonna be [like]? It’s strange but super exciting.”
Fans have been anticipating the birth since October 2024 after Eminem revealed the news toward the end of an emotional music video for his song “Temporary” which is included on his latest album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).”
The song is a letter from Eminem to Hailie Jade designed to comfort her after he dies. It includes footage of home videos such as a father-daughter dance and Eminem’s reaction to seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.
Hailie has long been a major inspiration and calming force for the once-volatile rapper. She is often featured in his lyrics and her birth in 2001 marked a major life change for Eminem.
shared a video of his daughter revealing to him that she’s expecting her first baby with her husband.
“She made me get my ass in gear — to make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than I had before,” he told British publication Q in 2001.
