This City Is Ours release date, cast and episodes as Sean Bean crime drama nears
This City Is Ours is a crime drama set and filmed in Liverpool.
This City Is Ours airs on BBC One soon and the crime drama comes from Stephen Butchard, known for his work on The Last Kingdom and Five Daughters. Set and filmed in Liverpool, with other filming taking place in Spain, This City is Ours follows Michael.
Michael is a man who for all of his adult life has been involved in organised crime. His life is turned upside down when, for the first time, he experiences love.
In Diana, he sees a future - something to win and something to lose. This City is Ours follows Michael and Diana's love affair, set against the disintegration of Michael’s life as a criminal.
For years, together with his friend Ronnie, Michael has run a successful cocaine enterprise, bringing it into the city directly from Columbia. But when a shipment goes missing, then he knows their kingdom is under attack.
The series also explores what happens when Ronnie’s son Jamie decides he wants to inherit the business. Both Michael and Jamie have bold ideas to modernise the gang and they will battle for control of it.
When is This City Is Ours out?
The series reveals how Michael’s biggest battle will be to save the woman he loves and the child he has always wanted.
The BBC explained: "This is a story about family and love destroyed and corrupted by ambition, pride and greed. It’s a story about power: what we will do to secure and keep it."
All episodes of The City is Ours will drop on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday, March 23, with the series beginning its weekly 9pm BBC One transmission the same night.
