Fortnite early patch notes for update 34.30 – Sabrina Carpenter's Festival, Ballistic map and more

Pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter is expected to make her appearance as the next Fortnite Festival headliner in the coming Fortnite update, as well as a few other goodies for players to get stuck into.

Fortnite's next update is coming in hot, and along with a new Fortnite Festival comes a heap of fresh bug fixes too.

It hasn’t taken Fortnite long to brace for a brand-new update, and though we’ve been given plenty of new content in the last few days, there’s clearly plenty more to come. The Fortnite April Fool’s downtime gave way to some charming and silly quests for players to complete, asking them to touch grass and “go over there,” and even though they’re likely to keep them busy for long enough, there’s more to come.

The Fortnite update 34.30 release date is incredibly close already, and it plans to deliver a lot of fresh content to players, including a new map for Fortnite Ballistic and an all-new Festival headliner in the shape of Sabrina Carpenter.

We have to get to the launch date first, though, but it’s safe to presume that the moment the update goes live, there will be plenty waiting for us. Until then, though, here are the leaks and communications from developers that make up the Fortnite early patch notes for update 34.30.

Leaks

A few leaks have made the rounds on social media that indicate we're in for a quality update in Fortnite 34.30 – and even the game itself has shared a lot of great details about the incoming season of Ballistic. Here's everything that has leaked to be coming in the new Fortnite update, which we explored when we took a look at the Fortnite update 34.30 release date:

  • A new Fortnite Festival season, featuring headliner Sabrina Carpenter
  • A new Ballistic map called Hammer Fall, a new fire grenade weapon and a reset for its Ranked mode
  • A brand-new collaboration with Adventure Time
  • The expected arrival of a new SMG / dynamite weapon to contest the Pump % Dump SMG / shotgun combo weapon

It's not a lot to go off, but the content packed into here is impressive, especially as it will offer players an entirely new Music Pass to work through. Say goodbye to the Hatsune Miku Music Pass while you can.

Bug fixes

The best way to check what’s coming to the game before any update is to investigate the Fortnite early patch notes, which can be found in the Fortnite community Trello board. This board is the means of communicating new changes and bug fixes directly from developer to player, and there are heaps to dig up about the new incoming update.

Here is everything marked as “Fixed in Next Game Update” on the Trello board:

Battle Royale / Reload / OG
  • Pressing “Rocket Forward” mid-air after running out of charge removes the Rocket Drill’s slow fall effect, causing fall damage – If the player activates the “Rocket Forward” button mid-air and runs out of charge, they will take fall damage when hitting the ground.
LEGO Fortnite
  • The ‘Exit’ option is missing if the player moves away from their housing lot while in the Edit/Decorate mode – The ‘Exit’ option is missing within the Edit and Decorate Mode options on PlayStation ⅘ if the player moves away from their Housing Lot while still inside this mode. Temporary Workaround: to exit the mode, approach your Housing Lot zone again.
Save the World
  • Backing out of the STW upsell screen results in missing frontend tabs – We are aware of an issue where players could get stuck and unable to switch to other tabs. This happens when the Save the World mode is selected and after players have visited the Shop. This issue should be resolved in the next game update., 34.30. In the meantime players could use this workaround: select any ‘Shop’ entry, and back out of the screen.
  • Resource count in the HUD reflects the total amount, not the recently picked up amount – When the player picks up a resource, the HUD will display the total amount they have in their Inventory, and not the amount they’ve just picked up.
  • Placing a Proximity Mine can limit movement and restrict inventory use –If the Proximity Mine Gadget is used, it might not be placed and can leave the player unable to sprint, build, use Gadgets, weapons, abilities or interact with inventory slots.

Fortnite mobile
  • The ‘Combined ADS+Fire’ setting may not work correctly in some experiences – If the player enables the ‘Combined ADS+Fire' setting under the ‘Touch and Motion’ tab and uses a weapon, they may not enter Aim Down Sights (ADS) mode.
  • In-game time may not match the device time – Using the default settings (i.e. automatic time zone and device location/language) may display incorrect time for some players.

That’s everything we can expect to change in the new update! There’s not a lot going on in the core modes of Fortnite here, but these are still crucial fixes to keep Epic Games on top. And to be fair, with so many Sabrina Carpenters set to make it to the game’s map soon, we promise you, the real issue is the non-zero chance that you’ll be cornered by Espresso-singing squads and sent straight back to the lobby.
