Disney's Snow White fans fume star 'deserves better' as they slam 'mediocre' remake

Disney's live action remake of Snow White starring Rachel Zegler hit cinemas today.

Disney's Snow White live action remake released in cinemas worldwide today (March 21) and cinemagoers reactions to the reimagined version of the hit film have slowly started trickling in.

Starring Rachel Zegler as the titular character and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, the movie has faced a number of controversies but is now officially in the hands of the viewers.

After watching the film, several fans flocked to Reddit to share their thoughts and it's safe to say they weren't holding back.

One person expressed: "It was not good. It has a few cute moments but then a lot of really questionable choices that result in feeling like this was two movies stitched together.

"The bandits hoody and jeans, Gals 80's arcade carpet cloaks, the music being so jarringly different. But, your kids will probably like it, so there is that."

Another Disney fan penned: "Is it a great movie? No, and it's still not my bag. It's very strange that it goes from full on broadway musical intro to narration."

A third commented: "The film is at its strangest with the bandits and dwarfs. Two narrative directions collide with mediocre interactions. We don't get enough time with their group this way.

"It's not a completely terrible time but it's disappointing when Disney's early masterpieces are average at best with a live action treatment. The best addition would be the Queen destroying herself by breaking the mirror."

Despite some not thinking the film was that great, many claimed Rachel was the best part of the film and praised her acting and singing.

Somebody wrote: "Rachel Zegler really is quite good here. She Carries this film. The rest of it was, eh."

Another enthused: "Rachel Zegler is an absolute star. She just steals the show and is so effortlessly charming and does such a great job in belting out these new songs. She absolutely shines and is easily the best thing about the film."

Someone else added on Reddit: "Rachel Zegler deserves way better than acting alongside Gal Gadot."

The film was first announced back in 2016 and since then it has been plagued with controversies, with many not happy with the casting choices or Disney's decision to use CGI dwarfs instead of casting real actors.
