A groom-to-be from Yorkshire suffered a tragic accident on his stag do and died - never making it to his wedding day the following month.

Oliver Holroyd, 29, from Halifax, pictured above, was enjoying drinks in Benidorm with loved ones when he collapsed while sitting on the bar stool, slipped off and hit his head on the floor.

After falling at the Funky Flamingo bar in Benidorm on March 22, CPR was initiated.

But after 15 minutes, he was declared dead following an unsuccessful adrenalin shot administered from ambulance crews.

Oliver tragically died in front of friends and family, including his own father.

The bar manager at the Funky Flamingo, Gaston Luciano, told MailOnline: "They gave him a shot of adrenaline and connected him to a machine, they did everything they could, it was so sad.

"His friends were in shock for the first minute or so and then it hit them what was happening, they were emotional and crying."

Oliver was due to marry his fiancée Paige Whiteley next month. His grief-stricken family, fiancée and friends flooded social media with tributes to the dad-of-one.

His mum Karen wrote: "We miss you so so much Oliver Holroyd. Our beautiful boy, life is just unbearable without you, love you to the moon and back kid... Can't wait until we're all back together."

Oliver's fiancée Paige said: "My Oliver, I can't believe this is real. This shouldn't be real. I miss you so so much. My best friend, the father of our gorgeous little boy, the best dog dad ever, my fiancée, my soul mate.

"Nothing will be the same again but I promise you I will try my best for our little boy. I hope you can see us everyday and I hope I'm making you proud. I'm so sorry this happened to you my darling.

"I miss you so much. I love you with my whole heart, always and forever. Until I see you again, baby. You're my Waterloo. Yours forever."

A JustGiving page has been set up by a friend of Oliver's to raise money taking part in the Leeds Marathon.

On the fundraising page Ben Capper wrote: "On the 22nd of March our beloved friend Oliver lost his life due to a stroke at the tender age of 29. He’s left behind his beautiful fiancé and 1 year old.

"I’m running the Leeds marathon in his honour to raise money and awareness to the stroke association."
