The U.S. Department of Energy - Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management
About us
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) is dedicated to minimizing the environmental impacts of fossil fuels while working toward net-zero emissions. FECM’s programs use research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) approaches to advance technologies to reduce carbon emissions and other environmental impacts of fossil fuel production and use. The Office is committed to improving the conditions of communities impacted by the legacy of fossil fuel use and to supporting a healthy economic transition that accelerates the growth of good-paying jobs. FECM has approximately 1,000 scientists, engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. Its headquarters offices are in downtown Washington, D.C. and Germantown, MD. The organization also includes the National Energy Technology Laboratory, the only government-owned and government-operated lab, with offices in Morgantown, WV, Pittsburgh, PA, Sugar Land, TX, Albany, OR, and Anchorage, AK.

🌟 🌟 DOE Announces $16 Million to Advance Technologies that Transform Carbon Emissions into Valuable Products 🌟 🌟 📋 As part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, #FECM announced up to $16 million in federal funding for large-scale conversion of carbon dioxide emissions into environmentally responsible and economically valuable products. 💰 With funding provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, projects will develop the sustainable feedstocks and conversion technologies necessary to produce crucial fuels, materials, and other carbon-based products that are better for the environment than current petroleum-derived equivalents. 🌎 This effort supports the Biden-Harris Administration’s climate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as well as the goals of DOE’s Clean Fuels and Products Energy Earthshot, which aims to meet projected 2050 net-zero emissions demands for 100% of aviation fuel; 50% of maritime, rail, and off-road fuel; and 50% of carbon-based chemicals by using sustainable carbon resources. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4cE4d55 #ICYMI🗣️ Apply by August 27📅
