As the #CannesLions Festival comes to a close, here’s the buzz along the Croisette that we picked up this week.
At the #CannesLions Festival this week, athletes, creators and celebrities dominated conversations. The week signalled just how much #luxury has morphed in meaning and context. Luxury is culture, and culture is luxury. Context matters today in the world of branding, and even the most powerful brands must find new ways to show up and new people and partners to collaborate with in order to get in front of the right audiences. At this week’s festival, conversations outside of the Palais and up and down the Croisette revolved around this idea. Here's everything to know from the week.

Congratulations to our partners across eBay, eBay UK, EssenceMediacom and Condé Nast for our Bronze Lion win in the inaugural Luxury & Lifestyle category for Sustainable Luxury. Ahead of last year’s iconic Vogue World: London, Vogue and eBay partnered to promote sustainable, luxury, pre-owned, and vintage fashion which can be sourced on eBay today. Twiggy, the groundbreaking supermodel of the 1960s, was invited back to Vogue to recreate her iconic shot from 1967 with the same vintage accessories found on eBay. Tune in to this year’s Vogue World, happening in Paris, to see what’s next!

Condé Nast Advertising reposted this
The dominant presence of #athletes, #creators and #celebrities at this year’s #CannesLions festival reflects just how much the power balance has shifted. To tap new #audiences, brands must first identify their obsessions, whether that be a sports team, a gamer or a ‘get ready with me’ TikToker-turned-podcaster. This means forsaking control in favour of building trust — a concept that doesn’t come naturally to brands with images carefully crafted for decades or more. Here, Hilary Milnes reports from the festival with Condé Nast Advertising on everything to know.

The first edition of our #CondéNast x #VogueBusiness Cannes Lions dispatch is live!
Conversations about how generative AI will reshape every industry it touches are dominating this year’s #CannesLions Festival of Creativity — to no one’s surprise. In an AI era, brand power is becoming even more important, according to agency leaders and analysts speaking to Vogue Business on the first few days of this year’s event in the South of France. So why is everyone talking about AI? It’s all thanks to #ChatGPT, which has turned generative AI into a mainstream “toy”, according to one agency CEO. What that means in practice is that brands must do everything well, pairing tech prowess and data strategy with good campaigns and creative work. This is especially relevant for #luxury, which is playing a bigger part at the 2024 edition of the festival. Here’s everything to know as #VogueBusiness's Hilary Milnes reports from the ground with Condé Nast Advertising.
