The student-run Meng Impact Investment Fund at Yale SOM has made its first investment with a $50,000 stake in fintech company Ezra Financial. Ezra, founded by Yale alum Dashell Laryea, helps companies offer Emergency Savings Accounts (ESAs) to support hourly workers' financial resilience. Austin Cai '25 interned at 53 Stations and found that the Chicago-based venture capital firm gave him room to grow professionally and personally. Dianna Liu ’18 founded ARIX Technologies, a company that produces pipe-crawling robots to inspect energy networks and prevent environmental damage. She started ARIX while a student in 2017 and won the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale’s Miller Prize that year. After closing on a $2 million seed-funding round the week of her graduation, Dianna used that money to hire two Yale College engineering graduates, who are still with the company today.
