Take a moment. Rest. Reflect.

It’s nearly the end of the year. Again. And you automatically think about the upcoming year. What do you want to improve, achieve, realise, change, focus on? Any new intentions for the new year?

First of all, I think it’s time to take a deep breath, to take a moment for yourself and let your thoughts and mind focus on the actual year, because yes, we’re still in 2019 and a lot of things could happen.

I had the chance to take a moment to reflect. I experienced how much power, focus and clarity it gives. I asked myself a few questions and I experienced that I developed pure gratitude in this process.

  • Which kind of experiences did I make this year?
  • Which new things did I learn (about myself) this year?
  • Which new opportunities were born?
  • Which people entered my life? Which people left my life?
  • With whom would I like to spend (more) time?
  • Did I develop some habits? If yes, do I like them?
  • Did I care about myself? About others?
  • Whom would I like to say thank you?

For now, I used the power of reflection and would love to share some insights of my reflection process.

  • It’s okay to ask for help
  • Learning associates listening, asking, reflecting
  • Being mindul with your own expression and gestures, the choices of words – it has a lot of impact
  • Being honest to yourself – the more you attract like-minded people
  • It’s okay to have fear
  • It’s okay to show weakness
  • It’s important to give your ideas the space and time to develop
  • I experienced the importance of filtering, reflecting and comparing input and information
  • I developed to let thoughts behind like „work must be always super difficult and challenging“ - if you have the passion behind it might feel easy sometimes and that’s great!
  • I experienced the role of activity in life: It’s a difference to show activity in university, in business meetings, with friends, with your partner or family members – it gives so much relation to everything
  • Sharing should be more lived: Showing my strengths is sharing my strengths

Everyday it feels like a whole journey I went so far, living in international cities, making decisions day by day, getting pushed out of the comfort zone. Cause within that process, you experience yourself at its best, trusting in your developed values, skills and experience you made so far. I’m looking forward to make further decisions, to travel to unknown places, to get to know foreigners who become friends and finally to develop an inner „change mindest“: What you carry inside, you carry outside in the world, in your daily life, in your business world, to your friends and beloved ones.

I say thank you to 2019 for all the decisions and experiences I made, the people I met and went into my heart, the countries I was able to travel to, for all the little (interpersonal) moments, for all the coincidentally moments I had and appreciated this year.

In the end, there’s no positive or negative. It’s purely life. As it is.
