I'm a HYBRID and here's what I mean
A few years ago, I unknowingly started my life purpose career journey in the Florida State University Career Center, while pursuing a degree in Asian Studies.
Life took me through meandering roads, and along the way, I learned about global sports, sales, international education, and recruitment life cycles. The whole time, two things stayed with me the strongest: my drive to help make a difference in individual people's lives, and my passion for Asian culture.
Today, after having gone through these amazing steps, I finally landed on my life purpose career, and there is no surprise that this Yin-Yang-Loving-Daoist has turned out to want to be a balance of two, seemingly opposing forces.
A career coach AND a recruiter. The first works directly for the job seeker, but wants to also respect companies' needs. The latter works directly for companies, but wants to also respect job seekers' needs. Lots of people list both on their profiles, but I'm not sure that they have all done both, professionally. There is a lot to learn on both sides, and I'm not *there* yet.
I want to do both the aforementioned things, and I want to help Asian-Americans, new-Americans, and newly-work permitted individuals find work, (others too, I'm just most in my element with aforementioned audience). I also want to be an arm of support for recruiters, HR managers, and talent acquisition people in general.
I believe in helping people, and I can do so without a fee as long as you don't expect me to work in complete dedication for your request. This means, I can take a look at my network and see if anyone or any job pops up that could fit your request. If yes, I'll happily make an introduction for you and then step away. If no, it might still happen, but it could be weeks or months down the road. I call this a "first-look".
If you request my undivided attention, I can do that too, but this time I will request that we enter into a services agreement contract together. Because my time commitment is valuable. Your needs are also extremely important, and so if someone commits to helping you, you should know what you're getting and set your expectations accordingly.
I'm excited to share the work I have done for the last month with you, and launch WorkSama -- a small, dedicated search firm that is hybrid by design. I am also excited to say that I'm already booked through the end of the year, but will be excited to take on new candidate-clients in January 2018.
Thank you for your support, and if i can help you with a first-look or a dedicated service, please let me know.
