Create AI Vertical Solutions for Federal Agencies

Every government contractor should be creating an 'AI Strategic Sales Plan' defining how they can support existing customers.

If you do not do this, your competitors will, and they can end your 'option years'.

I've been saying this since last year when AI 'arrived' on the scene…

Every small business in the federal market needs to team up with an AI firm and figure out how AI can improve the services you're offering to federal agencies.

It doesn't matter if you're in cybersecurity or elevator maintenance or acquisition support - AI is coming.

The only question is whether you'll guide your customers there or if you'll be displaced by competitors.

You don't need to be an expert in AI. You're already a SME in your area.

When you team up with an AI firm, together you can bring ideas to your federal customers.

Emerging Vertical AI Landscape

Aileen Lee, Founder of Cowboy Ventures, wrote this great article about 'The Emerging Vertical AI Landscape…' that you should read.

In it you can find examples of vertical AI solutions in Construction and Architecture, Healthcare, Finance and Accounting, Legal, etc.

You are a trusted advisor to your federal agency customers, and they want to hear from you.

They don't want you to 'watch AI happen' - they want you to 'make AI happen'.

Look at those firms in Aileen's article and see what they're doing in the commercial sector. Then think about who you support to get ideas of how AI could be introduced.

Reach out to the firms in this article. Some of them might welcome teaming with you to enter the federal market.

Hi Neil, I don't have any government contracts (yet), but I can build AI Solutions. What's the best way I can match find with those that do have the contracts, are the SME, but need some AI tech help (and I promise, I don't word vomit, lol).

First Rule of AI... You do not talk about AI. Get the customer to talk about the problem.

I have created strategic AI partnerships and am including the partners in intro calls which are leading to opportunities. When first meeting with a potential partner and listening to them for an hour or more while they flip through endless slides, I show them your voicemail script and say we need to boil all of this down to a focus statement- 10 words max. Then, I fill their calendar (and mine).
