AI Rat Race - How one can become a leader in their respective field!

As artificial intelligence has been impacting multiple sectors, the global AI race is moving faster than ever with companies competing to become the leaders.

Achieving the desired target requires a strategic and focused approach. Here are some steps I believe a company and their respective salesperson can take to increase their chances of reaching their AI sales goals:


Set Clear Goals and Objectives: Since everyone is talking about AI, everyone is in a hurry to capture the market and be the best. Sometimes this jiffy can come hard on the companies later as they release their products/services at an early stage and the buyers also identify afterward that it didn't match their requirements. It's important to set clear goals and objectives initially to get the best of your ROI.

Understand the AI Product/Service yourself first: Deeply understand the product or service you're selling. Know its features, benefits, and how it solves customers' problems. This knowledge will help you effectively communicate value to potential clients.

Identify Ideal Customers: Ai might not currently work for everyone, so identifying the right target audience. Understand your ideal customer profile based on various factors like industry, company size, demographics, and pain points.

Effective Prospecting: Leverage social media, networking events, cold calling, and referrals to expand your prospect list. Understand your customer needs and provide personalized AI solutions.

Value-Based Selling: Focus on the value your AI product/service provides rather than just its features. Show how your AI offerings can help the client achieve their goals and solve their challenges.

Handle Objections: Be prepared to handle objections. Accept the fact that the client might not be ready yet to buy your AI offerings and it will take time to build trust and rapport. Anticipate common objections and have well-reasoned responses that highlight the benefits of your AI solution.

Provide Proof: This could be a tough task as a lot of AI offerings are in the POC stage. If you have it, it would be great to use case studies, testimonials, and success stories to demonstrate how your AI product/service has benefited other clients.

Customized Solutions: Tailor your solutions to meet the specific needs of each client. A one-size-fits-all approach rarely works.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated about industry trends, competitors, and techniques. Continuously improve your AI skills to adapt to changing market dynamics.

Collaborate with Other Teams: Work closely with marketing, customer support, and other teams to ensure a seamless customer experience throughout the sales journey.

Data-Driven Approach: Analyze data to identify patterns and insights that can guide your sales strategy.


We need to recognize that tech, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach are key to achieving ambitious AI sales targets. It's important to strike a balance between pushing for results and improving continuously.
