The optical system for High-NA-EUV #lithography from ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology consists of projection optics and an illumination system. The ladder alone comprises more than 25,000 parts and weighs over six metric tons. 👁️🤖 Imagine a #robot performing precise #eye surgery. What once sounded like science fiction is now becoming more and more reality. #Cataracts cause the eye's lens to become cloudy and require surgical lens replacement. While most surgeries are complication-free, risks like infections and injuries still exist. Robotic-assisted surgery reduces these risks by enhancing precision and consistency. 💡Eleonora and Daniel from #teamZEISS at the ZEISS Innovation Hub at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) are working on medical robotics to improve cataract surgery. "Robots improve the accuracy and repeatability of procedures," says Eleonora, allowing surgeons to focus on critical decisions. "Robots can even perform tasks beyond the capabilities of highly skilled professionals", adds Daniel. #ZEISS #Innovation #Health

🌕✨ On this day, 55 years ago ZEISS made history with the Biogon 5.6/60 wide-angle lens, designed for the first #moon landing as part of the Apollo 11 mission. This lens captured the lunar surface in stunning detail, offering excellent contrast and maximum definiton and made it possible to calibrate distances and heights, enabling size-ratio analyses of objects on the moon. 🚀 Even today, the precision of ZEISS solutions shapes the way you view the world through the lenses in your eyeglasses to the camera on your smartphone.
