With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Prof. Akhtar Hussain, President of the International Diabetes Federation. Prof. Hussain's lifelong dedication to addressing diabetes and his pioneering contributions to public health have left an indelible mark on our community. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His legacy of compassion and commitment to health and wellbeing will continue to inspire us all.
It is with deep sadness and regret that we must announce the sudden passing of our President, Professor Akhtar Hussain. A passionate champion for the diabetes cause, Prof Hussain’s contributions to the field of diabetes were invaluable and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
