⚖️ Policy Power: My Internship at Apar Hey everyone! During my HR internship at Apar, I dove headfirst into the world of policy drafting, and let me tell you, it was way more interesting than I ever imagined! Think about it: policies are the foundation of a healthy work environment. They set expectations, ensure fairness, and ultimately, keep everyone happy (or at least informed ). But drafting these policies isn't just about legalese. It's about understanding company culture, employee needs, and even anticipating future challenges. So, here's the question for YOU: What's the most policy you've ever encountered (good or bad) at a workplace? Share your thoughts in the comments, and let's get a conversation going! #HRInternLife #PolicyPower #APAR #EmployeeExperience #WorkCulture #Universalbusinessschool #UniversalAIUniversity P.S. Thinking of revamping your company's policies?Hit me up and let's chat about what makes an effective policy.

Thank you, Jimmy Barrett, for generously sharing your time and your insights with our Higher Diploma in HRM class at Cork University Business School. From HR internship to Associate Director, HR Lead at MSD Ireland, your journey is truly inspiring. For early career HR professionals, the impactful actions you recommended were: 👨🏫 The power of an internship to gain exposure and to get on the first stepping stone of your desired career. 🤝Get out and network at professional events and use LinkedIn – you just might connect with a future employee / employer. 👁Self-awareness: gain insights to yourself. You explained how the results of a self-assessment and feedback from a manager both aligned to highlight an area to work on. 🧩 Go for it: don’t let one detail in a job advert hold you back from applying if you believe this opportunity could be a good fit. #CUBS #CIPD #HRM

Dynamic Marketing Executive | Critical Thinker & Emerging Leader | Passionate & Driven Learner | Dedicated to Social Media Strategy, Event Management, and Community Engagement
After working in over 8 different jobs—from selling uniforms to retail, F&B, dishwashing and others—primarily for financial reasons, I’m confident to say that my internship and subsequent part-time position with NTUC Club's UPlay Business Development Team has been the highlight of my working journey so far! This experience has been fantastic for my personal growth and professional development, offering a true sense of holistic development beyond just monetary gains. Here are the three key working values I have learned and observed from my colleagues in my department that I would like to share: • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. My colleagues have shown me the value of working in a closely-knit department. Everyone tries to bring each other up and help each other, prioritising collective success over individual motives. Despite having busy schedules and deadlines to meet, my superiors always found time to guide me, and were always willing to share their knowledge. This positive work environment fostered collective success and continuous learning. • 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. Being between the Business Development and Marketing teams, I have seen how my superiors always strive to deliver the best service to their clients, both externally and internally. They often go the extra mile to provide added value wherever they can, and worked late hours whenever needed to ensure client satisfaction. This has truly opened my eyes to the meaning of being truly dedicated to one's craft. • 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. Observing my colleagues' dedication and enthusiasm for their roles has taught me the significance of finding passion and purpose in work. Their commitment to the team’s goals and the positive impact of their efforts have inspired me to seek fulfilment and meaning in my own tasks. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of team with amazing colleagues and for the lessons and growth I've experienced here. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me. #ProfessionalGrowth #PersonalDevelopment #Gratitude #Mentorship #Teamwork

Actively seeking an engaging career opportunity as a Human Resource Executive. Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.)| Human Resource Management
Since my third function, which is industrial relations, is very confidential, I will skip posting about it on LinkedIn. Moving on to the fourth function, learning and development, I was exposed to HRD Corporation, where I was involved in submitting and claiming grants. Additionally, I assisted with training preparation, such as joining discussions and preparing participant biographies. Lastly, I was assigned to prepare the proposal for teambuilding activities. I can say that, in these functions, my Excel skills have improved significantly. #internshipjourney #learninganddevelopment #fraserandneave

Behind the internship: real stories, real experiences. Our talented HR student, Doroti Tamas was involved in the Traineeship Program offered by Tesco Business Solutions Hungary: “This has been an exceptional opportunity to try myself out in various HR fields such as Recruitment, Trainings and People Partners. I’ve learned a lot and gained experiences in a number of areas e.g. screening applicants, arranging appointments for trainings and interviews, learning about HR platforms, sourcing talents and participating in job interviews. The skills that I used and improved the most during my traineeship were soft skills – most importantly communications, trouble-shooting, proactivity, and creativity." Did you know that 70% of our graduates land great jobs within three months? #YourCareerIsIngoodhandsWithIBS

This week HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association provided the opportunity hear a Dayforce Employee Experience Panel Discussion: How to drive employee growth and retention in the new world of work. These topics can be situational, and we hear many different insights, but I wanted to share a few takeaways and reminders as we continue these important discussions and work: 🗺 Career paths are no longer ladders, but more like doing rock climbing 🧗♂️- great analogy, sometimes we need to shift horizontally or take a step back to move forward 🎯 Methods are many, principles are few - stay true to your values! ❣ Purpose driven professionals need purpose beyond profit to join your vision, organization or to stay. 🤝 Internship, mentorship and sponsorship - know the difference, when each is needed and be sure you check your own bias when you do. Let's keep the conversation going, let me know your thoughts in the comments 👇 Donnebra McClendon Katie Meyers Tru Pettigrew #Growth #Rention #EmployeeExperience #LeadingWithEmpathy

Is your company thinking about creating an internship program? We can help by developing a program that will set your company up for success while creating the best talent pipeline. Internships are great opportunities for growth and career development. Company's should also be aware of the legal obligations that apply to paid and unpaid internships. State and federal laws regulate when interns should be considered employees and therefore entitled to minimum wage, overtime pay, workers' compensation and other protections. We can help you build a program that will not only be rewarding and drive employee satisfaction, but will meet all of your compliance obligations.
