Do you want to know some simple ways to not lose your great PEOPLE in CONSTRUCTION? 👷🏻♀️🛠️👷🏻♂️ Check out Howie Chan tips below. Love one of the highlights in his LI profile "Make your Mark ~ Live your Legends." "Your Best PEOPLE don't quit job!... 🏗️ TIPS 🏗️ They are there 'TO DO' the job!" We saw these and they resonated with us. Many of these topics come up as reasons why WOMEN leave their construction jobs or construction companies. These are huge OPPORTUNITIES to attract and retain top talent if companies in ALL industries explore these tips. Where this may hold true in some arenas …Not real sure we have to much of these things going on anymore in construction jobs. When we have a good employee, we definitely want to keep them these days and most have open door policies to keep dialogue fresh between themselves and their “good-hardworking” employees. It’s the “Bad” employees who we have to keep for fear of getting caught in the unemployment trap that tends to bring down morale amongst the team. This is a real problem. #unemployment #keepgoodemployeeshappy #systemabuse

It’s remarkable to me that we have so much data to support this yet workplaces aren’t getting better to reflect what we know.

The common denominator is poorly trained managers. Technical minds, good at their jobs, are promoted but then never taught to be leaders. Exactly what I address. It's hard enough getting folks to enter our industry, then we have to keep them engaged!

Unfortunately this happens everyday across all industries. If we can provide better training for our foremen, superintendents, PMs and other supervisory positions, we can get that much closer to being an industry of choice.

These TIPS are opportunities to create a more THRIVING environment for ALL in Construction. Thanks Women Talk Construction for sharing these tips from Howie Chan. 👊🏻🎉👷🏻♀️🤍🏗️ #thrivingTOGETHER
