When we won the Brandon Hall Award for the "Best Advance in Employee Recognition Program" this year with Wipro (Link - http://bit.ly/4bFL96l) , many people asked us about what we did. Some highlights - 57 % people got recognised through the platform last year. For a 240 K + company spread across 65+ countries, this is huge. It is only going to improve. - Program focusses on driving behaviours and values. Wipro’s newly appointed CEO, Srinivas Pallia, in his first email to employees on Monday, discussed three qualities—resilience, tenacity, and adaptability—that he has embraced as a passionate hiker and which will guide him as a leader. Pallia, who replaced Thierry Delaporte as CEO last week, drew parallels between the qualities of a hiker and those of an effective leader. He said that traits such as determination, adaptability, patience, and curiosity are essential for success. “These very qualities will guide me in my new journey as your CEO,” he stated. Mr. Ram is working in Wipro & Mr. Shyam is working with Accenture. During appraisals, both the companies give a 5% hike to their employees. Due to which Ram resigned from Wipro and Shyam resigned from Accenture. Letter on Shyam joined Wipro and got 30% hike and Ram joined Accenture and get 35%hike. The the most interesting part were they both are good friends, by switching the job both the friends got decent hike . What company gain here is- 1. New hiring- 30 days 2. ⁠Loss trained manpower 3. ⁠30 days training time for the new employees, waste of 30-40 days salary and still not sure new emp might or not fulfill left employee void . This situation prompts a thought: When leaders start pointing fingers at their team, it might be a sign of deeper issues. Blaming subordinates could indicate a lack of innovative ideas, strategic frustration, or perhaps an uncertainty about the path ahead. True leadership shines in times of challenge. Instead of pointing fingers, it's crucial to foster an environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to overcoming obstacles. In the face of setbacks, let's focus on finding solutions, fostering a culture of open communication, and adapting strategies for sustained growth. I know very well that this is easier said than done, but I genuinely try to practice it even at times when I go astray.
