Wikimania is just around the corner! As we look forward to meeting you in Katowice for our annual celebration of free knowledge, let's take some time to understand the theme for this year's conference: “Collaboration of the Open.” This spirit underscores the power of working together and sharing knowledge freely with the whole world. The program for #Wikimania2024 celebrates open research, open data, and open government – initiatives that connect Wikimedians with the wider world, inspire others, and strengthen the impact of open knowledge. Its sessions embody the spirit of collaboration and openness, raising the bar for what’s possible in our community. Explore the full program for Wikimania ➡️ https://w.wiki/9Uwa

Ministry for the Environment | Manatū mō te Taiao funding recipients have fed back time and again that they would like the Ministry to provide a platform to connect similar projects; to network, learn from one another and build partnerships. This is more important now than ever, as #JobsforNature funding wraps up. If you lead an environmental restoration project, or would be interested in partnering with one - create a page on Tūhono Taiao. Nothing ventured, nothing gained 🌱
Tūhono Taiao is the digital home for people passionate about looking after the environment to improve our land, air and water. It’s a site where communities can gather online to share knowledge and stories and benefit from each other’s experiences. The genesis for Tūhono Taiao was in the Jobs for Nature programme. It is designed to support project partners to transition beyond the programme by creating a network linking the knowledge and people required to restore nature. Join the community and find out more: http://tuhonotaiao.org.nz Image description: Vibrant artwork titled 'Tūhono Taiao' depicting a lush, colourful landscape with diverse flora and fauna. 📣 To my international development community: Looking for ways to promote agency and participation of local actors in their own development? Building on existing practices, the Pathways towards effective locally led development co-operation report analyses to what extent providers’ systems can enhance or hinder the agency of local actors, looking in particular at policies, financing mechanisms, partnerships, and management processes. Rather than prescribing a singular pathway, it emphasises the importance of context-specific, sequenced, and locally defined approaches. 📖 https://lnkd.in/eDFgFfXQ
