"Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana." President Biden released a statement earlier this morning announcing that the Justice Department is "taking the next step" to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III. "At my request, and guided by science and evidence, HHS and DOJ have studied the drug's medical use and abuse and dependency potential and are recommending rescheduling – concluding reclassification would remove barriers to critical research. No one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana. Today’s announcement builds on the work we’ve already done to pardon a record number of federal offenses for simple possession of marijuana." Biden said in the announcement. As usual small steps forward have huge steps backwards planned. By making this schedule 3 vs legal... It's allowing corporations to patent and commercialize the industry through plain over exposure and limiting smaller businesses through the sheer power and influence corporate America has over the marketplace. We saw it during covid and still see it now... Anything but full legalization will KEEP legalization out of the question for the foreseeable future. This is a well planned stunt to make it seem like we have progress when in reality we have an anchor that will only benefit the greedy looking to lock in the industry behind heavy regulations only they can afford to pay for all while quality drops, just like food and water has

only when they finally deliver on that will i believe it. they just hold on to it for a cheap trick to tease voters with. i cannot whatsoever comprehend why it is still schedule one. it's plain to see that our government is run by elitists, for elitists. i certainly hope Biden will follow through. i hate to be negative about politics, but Kamala claimed she was going to introduce legislation while she was running for vice president. the headline caught some attention, but i don't even think it made it to vote.
